By: Alabama Gulf Coast Sports Commission

Gulf Shores/Orange Beach, AL—After stops in Florida and South Carolina, the EVP Tour powered by Corona Light arrives at Gulf Shores’ Main Public Beach for its fourth stop in the 25 city season tour. Professional volleyball teams will compete for the $10,000 purse on Saturday, May 10 while the amateurs hit the courts on Sunday, May 11.

“The Alabama Gulf Coast Sports Commission is proud to welcome this top notch volleyball tour to our beautiful and inviting beaches,” said Beth Gendler, Director of Sales for the Alabama Gulf Coast Sports Commission. “This tour – which is entering its 17th season – is recognized throughout the nation, and we are happy to host them for an exciting weekend.”

On Thursday night from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., LuLu’s at Homeport Marina will host the Bump’N to Buckets challenge. Test your volleyball skills and possibly make the cut to compete in one of the national qualifying events in Naples, FL; Hermosa, CA; Virginia Beach, VA and Chicago, IL.

LuLu’s keeps the party going on Friday night by hosting the welcome party that kicks off at 7:00 p.m. All EVP-related festivities will conclude by 9:00 p.m.

Then forget about the boring yard work on Saturdays, and head to the main public beach in Gulf Shores as 24 teams compete in high-energy games that are free to the public. The first game begins at 7:30 a.m. and continues throughout the day until the women’s finals at 4:00 p.m. followed by the men’s finals at 5:00 p.m. Conclude your day at the beach with an awards party from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at Gulf Shore’s newest beachside restaurant – The Hangout.

While the EVP tour is free to the public, VIP tickets are available for purchase at www.evptour.com. A $29.00 VIP ticket includes an hour long clinic with the professionals (starting at 11:00 am), priority courtside seating for the finals (3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.), a picture with the championship team (5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.) and an official EVP Tour T-shirt in addition to access to the VIP Party from noon to 3:00 p.m. at The Hangout in Gulf Shores.

On Sunday, amateur teams will compete. The first game is set for 9:00 a.m. and lasts until approximately 3:00 p.m.
